「第12回 VES Award」開催、『ゼロ・グラビティ』が6部門を制覇（Visual Effects Society）

全米視覚効果協会「VES」が主催する「第12回 VESアワード（the 12th Annual VES Awards）」の授賞式が開催された。

■「第12回 VESアワード」授賞式

全米視覚効果協会「VES」が主催する「第12回 VES Award」の授賞式が、2月12日（アメリカ時間）にザ・ビバリー・ヒルトンで開催された。当日は1,000人以上の業界関係者が参加する中、サプライズ・プレゼンターとして映画『ゼロ・グラビティ（原題：Gravity）』で主演を務めたサンドラ・ブロックが登壇し、会場を盛り上げた。
授賞式では、「第12回 VESアワード」全24部門のうち、映画『ゼロ・グラビティ』が「Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Feature Motion Picture」をはじめとする6部門を制覇した。

受賞部門：（1）Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects‐Driven Feature Motion Picture、（2）Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture、（3）Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture、（4）Outstanding Models in a Feature Motion Picture、（5）Outstanding FX and Simulation Animation in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture、（6）Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture

そのほか、劇場アニメーション長編映画『アナと雪の女王（原題：Frozen）』が「Outstanding Animation in an Animated Feature Motion Picture」をはじめとする4部門を、TVシリーズ『Game of Thrones: Valar Dohaeris（3rdシーズン）』とTVCM『PETA（動物の倫理的扱いを求める人々の会）: 98% Human』が各3部門で受賞を果たした。
